Israel declared Rafah a “Safe Zone” that would not be bombed. Rafah is the further south that Palestinians can go. How is this not a war crime?

(a) Hamas has been propped up by Netenyahu & co as a way to weaken the PLA.
(b) The way to defeat Hamas is to integrate Palestinians as full citizens and stop stealing their land!
Hamas is not all Palestinians, and the way to weaken Hamas, like all terrorist movements, is to address real grievances that push people towards the only ones willing to fight.

It's literally not at all equal footing, that's why both-sidesing this is incredibly harmful. It sets it up as two equal opponents, whereas here it's an occupying army butchering inhabitants to make way for new settlers.

It's not a "basic fact." You're clearly biased, or you would always say both Hamas and Israeli Defense Forces are engaged in slaughter.
As for any of the "protests" going on, I would say any sane, normal person would want to see the hostilities cease. But, it's as I said, the Palestinians and the Isaelis are each their own enemies. Enough said...

Any cease-fire is the responsibility of the main 2 parties involved, not the uninformed whims of any off-the-street American citizens with opinions but not facts. Also, the corporatist media-infotainment complex is putting this nonsense or that out to get eyes on for their advertisers. They use mostly predetermined results-driven polling designed to confuse others and suck them into their disinformation morass.

@lednabwm @QasimRashid People are upset at Biden *because his base doesn't agree with him* (70% of Dems, I think, support a ceasefire and oppose the genocide in Gaza). By contrast, I'm fairly sure die-hard GOPers support what Israel is doing (though I don't have the stats to back that up). That's the big difference here.

Like, it's not too much to ask our leaders to have a vision and actually try to work towards it. Biden's vision (certainly when he was running in 2020) was: Things will not change. Like, he actually said that verbatim in a closed room w/Wall St or something, I forget exactly.

@lednabwm @QasimRashid I just realized that this is really similar to the "All Lives Matter" rejoinder whenever someone says "Black Lives Matter". If the scales of death are different between two populations, clearly one population's lives are deemed less valuable and more expendable.
