@arcade @b0rk Oh this looks cool! This is really awesome and I'm going to check it out for my own edification, but this is a little more advanced than I was thinking. I need more like a basic linux/terminal operations manual for non-technical "woke folks"/activists and unhoused people. All of whom know how to use smartphones but may have never had their own PC before.
This is why I'm saying I might have to write it myself but the idea of making comics hadn't occurred to me and is genius

@sidereal @arcade @b0rk That's an awesome initiative. A lot of my work recent years has been about introducing more "ethical" yet simplified tech, including FOSS, Linux, and even Raspberry Pi, to predominantly older people (via video workshops since the pandemic), but as it's a labour of love, I'd always be interested in helping developing similar resources and materials that can be widely shared for free.

@MediaActivist @arcade @b0rk Yeah that definitely sounds kinda similar to what I’m doing. I’d love to hear your thoughts on helping folks with little experience get used to linux. Like, I find linux very comfortable, but I’ve also been using it for years

It's an unexpected success when we can get such folks into it, but when we step back it actually makes sense: the idea of Pi as a cheap, credit card-sized desktop computer then can use through their TV, for example, or Linux as a free and in many ways superior alternative to Microsoft Windows or Apple Mac can really resonate with people.
