   Man, it’s been almost a year since I got burned by Bitwave’s Toaplan ports, and I’m still really disappointed with them.

     @flobeamer1922 I'm still laughing at the game deleting itself from existence the literal one time I decided to try playing it. Gonna grab a copy of the new one soon and see if things have gone any better.

     @flobeamer1922 Yeah Volume 1, I tried installing a GOG copy, opened it up, ran for 5 minutes, closed it, when I tried opening it again, the shortcut didn't resolve. I checked the folder the game was installed in and the executable just... wasn't there. Everything else was, mind you, just not the executable.

     @t @flobeamer1922 Here's the thing, these aren't even ports in the reprogramming sense. They're emulated collections developed from the ground up by 90s vintage Swedish demo coders. So you get some parts of it that are genuinely excellent and many other parts which are just genuinely ??????? to behold.
