@mint wouldn't the solution to being raided just make a public approval room where a mod then invites the person who wants to join to the actual room. That way they can control how many people join within a timeframe I doubt their community is big enough to need such powerful moderation tools.
Instead they just want discords phone verification tool.

@Spooke >discords phone verification tool
Got a problem with that, chuddy? You aren't some filthy anon that tries to escape centralized media, are you?

@mint are these not the same people who are afraid of being lynched if they leave their nice stupidly expensive places to live in the blue cities.
Yet they give up their privacy all for the convenience of using incredibly oppressive moderation tools because they don't want to do the legwork of vetting.

@Spooke Precisely.

@Spooke @mint actually discord does have more advanced moderation tools right out of the box compared to matrix outside of just phone verification, such as time-outs, slow start and slow-mode, and restricted invite links (expirey within a certain time frame or limited no. of use)
but any chat protocol that lets you make rooms private or invite-only can prevent raids.

@phnt @mint yea didn't you know that you can't discuss how to make your software better if you aren't jerking off to a fantasy that your favorite anime girls are actually hecking valid futanari transgirls?
that's why i can't become a coder (besides me hating the idea of coding all day long) since i hate futanari

Gotta filter the non-serious people out somehow. Only the true software engineers have to stay.
>that's why i can't become a coder
For me the idea of Agile and Scrum are the reasons, I can't have a job like that. If I wanted a job in IT, Systems administration would be probably be the best one for me.

@phnt @mint i personally just hate the idea of using a computer to make a living, it's always been and always will be a way to entertain myself, i don't want to associate it with work, especially work that similarly to office work drains your soul
