So today's my 20 year anniversary at my current job (I remember the date because it was my dad's birthday). They used to make a big thing about significant anniversaries. But today? Not even an email.

The company my sister works at still gives people a gift at 25 years, not necessarily a gold watch these days, unless that's what the employee wants, and a gala dinner at 30 years.
But it's quite rare to see companies do that these days. Or to see an employment or even a company last that long.

Yes, my wife is hitting her 20 year anniversary with her employer this year, and they're giving her an extra 5 days off and £2K to spend on travel (so we're planning a nice holiday:-) I was just forgotten about at my current (soon to be ex) employer.
