     @ieure @a if I was suddenly able to retire with a large fortune and couldn't move to a city with decent transit for whatever reason, I'd be real tempted to try to mod an electric engine into a car that's old enough to not Have Computers tbh

     @technomancy @a CVT is a huge improvement over the 80s-90s slushbox automatics I learned on, but I still prefer the no-surprise does-exactly-what-I-tell-it experience of a manual.

     I'll give it up for a reasonable EV, but none have yet appeared on the market and I'm increasingly pessimistic that they ever will.
