@thomasroiloup what if it's just a campaign to get people to care about taylor swift again, after all any publicity is good, even if it's fake porn of her, i'm sure that with how modern celebrities twerk on stage half naked she's not very concerned about being used for fake porn, business as usual

@lina @thomasroiloup It's the big American football league in the US, let me give you a quick run down
>Team in Kansas City ends up being consistently good every year
>Wins a couple championships
>They start acting entitled
>A key player starts dating Taylor Swift
>Her fans are teenage to 20 something girls known as "Swifties" and they're fucking insane
>NFL decides to capitalize on this and puts her on camera whenever they feel like they can to pander to younger girls
>Questionable calls start benefiting Kansas City's team and they start winning again even though they were struggling earlier in the year
>Other fans (largely 30+ year old males) get pissed and start calling "rigged"
>Team enters its villain arc
>Now football fans are starting to hate Taylor Swift and accuse the league of selling itself out to a bunch of teenage girls that don't even care about the game
>Suddenly there's a big push talking about Taylor Swift getting mad at people posting AI-generated porn of her on Twitter (this has been happening for years and she chose this exact moment to get upset)
>Congress and the White House rush to m'lady's rescue
I don't know what exactly is going on but it's very reminiscent of the time Leslie Jones went onto Twitter and started talking tough about how she's untrollable, got asshurt at people saying she looked like the Missing Link, and Twitter started an intense crackdown on free speech in response to it

@mrsaturday @thomasroiloup i feel like the only way it'll affect me is that it'll be even harder for me to find stuff i actually need, like a way to generate a voice model and then use it to revoice sound files

@lina @thomasroiloup Normally it would be, but now they're trying to crack down on AI as a result of it. It seems like they had a solution in search of a problem, and they found one.

@mrsaturday @thomasroiloup i don't trust most of those sites, too many of them are trying to make a buck off people

@lina @thomasroiloup My computer sucks and I rely on sites to make stuff for AI, and I don't want to spend hours slamming my head against an ethicist-built brick wall just to get what I want out of it

@mrsaturday @thomasroiloup still would be nice if there was any info on generating a voice model locally, and preferably finding a way to use it for soundfile covers

@lina @thomasroiloup I don't either, but I also don't want to spend a month's gross income for a GPU that can run your average model and not make it look like that Spanish lady's touch-up of the Jesus fresco
