In a perfect state, you would use Speedrunning sites and channels as flypaper to find hyperfixated, ultra autistic nerds with lots of time on their hands. You would treat it as a strategic national resource and put them into a selection program with lots of dopaminergic trophies and digital bragging rights, with the prize at the end of the road a role at Mcdonnell Douglas as an "Engine Efficiency Engineer"

also slim, bashful noble girls are qt pies

@WashedOutGundamPilot @JedKron1248 the problem with having an IQ above room temperature is that no matter how much the eternal boomer bloviates about the virtues of hard work, it's impossible not to notice the real pattern
even at the youngest ages, what do you get if you're smart and work hard? more and harder work, along with massively inflated expectations. you finished your math worksheet while the smoothbrains were still stuck on figuring out 7x8? well you probably cheated and now you have to go do it again with a seething teacher hovering over you. keep it up and your reward is getting sent to advanced classes. while there are admittedly fewer swarthy races, you face the daily grind of 165 long division problems from the textbook and getting yelled at and sent to detention to redo it correctly if you fail to write out every step cause you did all the math in your head.
working hard as an adult means getting assigned all the most difficult work that your swarthy coworkers can't handle, always getting voluntold for things, and always being the one they demand comes in for a shift on weekends or your day off. eventually, you'll be called into a meeting with your manager and told they're disappointed in your underwhelming metrics. you've completed an average of 8 measurable item per day while the average employee completes 13 of them. since the manager spends all day sitting in his office (presumably watching furry porn) instead of paying attention to who's being productive, the only possibility in his mind is that you're slacking off. it doesn't matter that you're the only one who cleaned the filter on the compressor so it doesn't shit the bed and bring the entire shop to a standstill, or that you were showing a newer guy how to do something, or that you've been doing the more difficult work that anyone else would fuck up, you've only completed 8 measurable item, so the computer says you're a bad employee. you are put on a performance improvement plan and need to complete 12 measurable item a day for the next 6 months to be eligible for a raise next year (8 cents per hour) or the bonus (a $25 applebees gift card that you have to pay taxes on).

boomers honestly believe what they're saying too, and many even live it. by allah, i have watched a boomer work hours of unpaid overtime every week for absolutely no reason. they were never promoted or given a raise beyond what other workers got for merely existing, they were never even recognized for it, they were treated exactly the same or perhaps worse than the guy who did maybe 10 minutes of work and fucked off for the rest of the day during the coof work from home days.

@WashedOutGundamPilot Someone posted that instead of going to college on free rides and revolutionizing industries (as the smart silents and boomers did), our geniuses are playing Factorio after a night shift at Wal-Mart. I ponder that occasionally, and what a tremendous waste it is.

@JedKron1248 Every genx and boomer parent seems to tell me about their "gifted" son with a crestfallen tone, always shagging on how the kid lacks "work ethic" while describing how the guy "works too much at his dead end job".

They never believe me when I say the guys are struggling to survive, and all they need is the right track to excel in. Instead they think it's all 1975 still, and you can just work your way up the chain of promotion.

@skylar @JedKron1248 @WashedOutGundamPilot One place I worked one of the guys would come in super early and start working, we're talking before sun up, and still leave at 5 or later. He didn't log all of his over time, which fucked with the boss's expectations for project productivity.
He said he didn't log it because the company treated him well, and he wanted to do good for the company.

@dassauerkraut @skylar @JedKron1248 @WashedOutGundamPilot this should be an important point for people to understand why management by statistics is a mistake.
