One more comment about the border issue in Texas.
Heading into the 2018 midterms, Trump tried to do the same thing: Create a border crisis and campaign on the (invented) issue that scary brown people were invading.
It didn't work in 2018 (the Republicans lost) and I am sure it won't work again.
The idea that it work will comes from being inside an information ecosystem (or bubble): They can use it to rile their base, so they think it will rile everyone.

One mistake the GOP made is to cater to a small, vocal part of the base.
The two mindblowing books I read in the past few weeks (attached) opened my eyes to how small these partisan ecosystems are.
Some of the people insisting that Biden should do X or Y do not realize that they, too, are speaking for a very small subset of the voting population.
It's fine to say what Biden should do, but he will go where the larger numbers are.

i sense abbot is doing the same here: playing at the game of manufactured outrage for dim wits, and already aware he will back down if any real consequences present themselves
