@Linux_in_a_Bit oh no, I hadn't even thought about that. but this is a powerbank for 18650s, the cells are parallel not in series.
It's just that this is designed for flat top 18650s without protection and I have button top cells with protection which are slightly longer

I hate how this is actually electrically correct and perfectly fine* :blobcat0_0:AA batteries are 1.5 volt iirc.
1.5*5=7.5V
These cells are 3.7 volt.
3.7*2=7.4V*Cell balancing aside (it's only two cells, so I'm not too concerned)
