     @freon yeah screenies tend to be a huge % of the total cost.
     
     i looked in to pricing the OP-1 once and the closest i found to oled screens of the size they used (theirs is custom i think) was like hundos of money on its own. you quickly realize why performance hardware is >thousands

     @HarneyB @freon eh it has a lot of charm. i tried to find an alternative to what the op-1 does and there really aren't any.
     
     the deluge is a love or hate machine (i love it but i don't use it much) but is also massive. the MPC is capable but is also massive. the OP-1 is smol.
     
     true, now we have the dirtywave or a picotracker or running little piggy on a sketchy chinese handheld.

     @icedquinn @freon might want to include the multiple graphic designers and ppl that give the synth sounds funny visuals. more are willing to pay for a sound generator over a thousand USD if the compressor is visualized as a cow with multiple stomach chambers. Cue that chart comparing the OP1 to an iPhone running Korg Gadget with a Nanokeys taped to the back.
