     @eris@akko.disqordia.space i dont know how much of this is because of the incessant gamefreak defending but i feel like part of it is and that shit needs to stop. it feels like after gamefreak first showed trailer footage of swsh and some ppl got too deranged abt it and sent them death threats, half of the internet counterjerked too hard are now ride or die for gamefreak and its so fucking stupid. it is insane to me that someone controlling an IP that's raking in such obscene amounts of money, will shit out games of this level of abysmal quality and go unpunished for it, no, have people who should know better simp for them even

     @vivi Scarlet and Violet felt like a huge let down too! The only recent good game was Pokémon Legends Arceus and Game Freak didn't even make it iirc lol.

     @eris @vivi I just wish video games in general would launch finished. There are many things about SV that I like, terastallizing is an interesting mechanic and I think Pokémon of all things could work the best as an open world game since it sort of already was from the beginning. The game just launched unfinished like all AAA games do nowadays and so a lot of it feels really dry of content without DLC (hmm imagine that huh)

     @lydiaposting @vivi for real. There was a lot good about it, like seeing the pokemon doing their thing was so cute. But for me a game that runs at like 20fps is unplayable, it gave me motion sickness when I played it and it doesn't seem like its ever gonna get fully fixed.
     
     I knew that was gonna happen when they announced it like a month after Pokémon Legends Arceus came out, and that game now looks and feels gorgeous in comparison despite still having some flaws.

     I feel like the Switch 2 pokemon game is still gonna be ass even with the better specs

     @eris@akko.disqordia.space @lydiaposting@social.xenofem.me i am such a sucker for pokemon it hurts so much :depression: i would have been happy if they had kept the same stale gameplay but made it all big and 3d and polished like a nintendo game so the mons and battles feel more real :acrie: or imagine if it had gotten the botw treatment where people with actual money, time, passion and skill had sat down together and been like "what themes is our franchise about?" and had developed some new, magical, modern experience from the ground up based on that...
