In case you haven't tried already, if the RAM comes as two sticks, and if you feel confident, you could try swapping the sticks.

Another thing I *have* found in the mobo manual is that my RAM hasn't been tested for this motherboard, and while 99.999% of the time it doesn't matter, I'm getting a *lot* of RAM related errors.
