@jsnell @dave_cochran when I was much younger and just getting into the freelance journalism swing SI was a holy grail — the kind of thing I thought, “Well… if I ever do an SI feature, it’ll be a crowning achievement.” Top rates, investment of time and editorial attention, etc. it’s really sad to see those kinds of legacies transmuted to fungible brand sentiment and sold off.
