while I don't have any skin in this argument but I'd just like to point out that single user instances for the purposes of privacy and control over your own data is a very valid reason... Just like how artists would like to have control over how their images are used :|

I'm just a little surprised, that since from a principle standpoint both reasons are very similar, that you're painting all users on single user instances in a broad brush stroke.
