   Wow #Evernote just hit me with a huge price hike from 4000 yen a year —-> 6900 yen a year. I hate it when they suddenly do this without any warning at all. I wonder whether I can export all my notes so I don’t lose them all… #cloud

     I am sorry to hear that. I moved to @joplinapp a while ago and I have been very happy. #Joplin is open source, robust, you can put data on your own cloud storage, and the Web clipper is much, much better than Evernote.

     I use #Evernote extensively for a decade. But all of this squeezing has turned me off completely. Just made me feel gross. I am just moving two important notebooks before I shut Evernote down completely.

     Unbelievably, #Evernote actually terminated my Evernote Premium subscription without warning and bumped me down to their free tier. I am unable to make any more notes and unable to export my past notes. Absolutely out of the blue!

     @seanbala @joplinapp Thanks for the heads up about Joplin! I've got it set up on my Linux laptop, iphone and ipad mini, and got the end-to-end-encrypted sync set up via Dropbox. The web clipper is definitely better than Evernote!! Amazing piece of work. Thanks again.

     @ChaplinTokyo @joplinapp So happy it worked for you! I'm a really big fan. The synch from OneDrive is wonky on my Android tablet but it is just so good on the desktop that I stick with it. It is amazing what they've done to make the whole app so good!

     @ChaplinTokyo @joplinapp Small update: I got it to work on my tablet! I'm grateful for this thread because it made me want to engage with Joplin more. I've been using it primarily as an archive but now I'm going to try using it for more active projects. I also just realized they have plug-ins!

     I've been exploring Obsidian / Logseq but they seem too complicated and the lack of true cross-sync support keeps me from investing more in either. Joplin + SimpleNote might serve my purposes for now.
