     @NitroDubs the problem is that there is a ton of outstanding debt and it's about who is going to eat it.
     
     There is still not political will for the government to just eat it and act like nothing needs to change.

     @sickburnbro Who wants to bet this is more than just an election ploy and they're looking at vast numbers of student loan defaults with intense fear because a mass shrugging could deplete a HUGE amount of political trust in the liberal population when they realize everyone can skip their debts to the state without issue?

     Sure, it's a vote buy, but there's something about hearing the economic data that makes me think there're some horrifying charts in the bowels of the DoI that show some scary pathways should they not just "forgive" the huge debts that are about to be ignored anyway
