   @jgilbert Ok so, I also did Y2K-mitigation work, starting in 97, so I know firsthand that it was not bullshit -- and I also watched this particular documentary, and it is not what you are characterizing it as. Yes, it is a clip show, and shows some stupid people saying stupid things, but the show very much takes the position that Y2K was real, and was mitigated by the hard work of the people who understood that.

     As someone who spent a large portion of '98 and '99 making sure shit didn't break on Y2K, I'd like to extend a very heartfelt FUCK YOU to HBO for greenlighting a piece of shit documentary that suggests that effort wasn't necessary.
