     @Sustainable2050 the reaction of the gigantic Asian countries to the Russian invasion of Ukraine is maybe the strongest hint that our future on this planet is very precarious. These are the populations that will dominate the 21st century and their morality and politics will deeply shape the things to come (already does).

     Yet they act opportunistic, short-termist, inventing false excuses instead of seizing the moment to firmly establish that "this is no longer a time for war" (as per Modi).

     Both the historical and current moral leadership of the West is what it is. Are you arguing that Asia is entitled to the same?

     The challenge is that in the 21st century an overpopulated, environmentally degrading planet needs to do much better.

     Organized violence (war) that is gamed for advantage is bringing us closer to the precipice.

     The only rational survival tactic is that any organized violence is *immediately* deprived of oxygen by *everybody* else

     @Sustainable2050 @phiofx before flaming “Asian countries” you may want to reflect on the moral leadership of “the West”. Who are knowingly buying that Russian oil? Oh yes the EU is. Let’s put the unfolding genocide in that open air prison camp called Gaza on the table as well as Germany’s response to S Africa’s ICJ filing and there is little reason left for any flaming of India. Modi’s Hindu agenda is pretty nasty by the way but that’s a different story.
