   @thomasfuchs I know the non-usb end is called TRRS (tip ring ring sleeve) but I don’t know about any non-audio uses of it.

     @thomasfuchs note that this USB-A to TRRS cable works with Apple iPod Shuffle from its second generation onward.

     (I'm intimately familiar with the iPod Shuffle 1G, and I designed in one of these TRRS USB interfaces, in part as an homage, for another project in 2010.)
