@eriner @methos is it true that pleroma is less resource intensive? I'm thinking about exhumating an old machine, but it's not exactly starship Enterprise kind of system, so.... 😉

Pleroma is less resource intensive, and isn't hard to setup, though the database can grow pretty quickly depending on federation, particularly the activities table.

@methos this looks decent, but it was just the top thing in search: https://gist.github.com/TrillCyborg/84939cd4013ace9960031b803a0590c4

I'm sure there are others out there. LMK if I can be of any help.

@Humpleupagus @methos @eriner I imagined that storage requirements are not small, but if I'll go there, I'll be setting everything up on LVM, so adding storage won't be an issue, and considering that you can get 2TB usb 3.0 drives for 50-ish bucks these days, it's not real deal breaker ;)

2TB is plenty. The issue you'll run into as the database grows is the number of workers you can run to query it. This of course requires more cpu. It's why I like to keep my database lean. I also assume no one is really looking more than a few days back in most cases anyways.
