It's my dream to eventually one day own a real NAS. Something that is fairly small, can hold 5-6 drives, run a few Docker containers and not break the bank. I've been running my old gaming PC for many years, swapping out drives and running without RAID (but have backups), but I hate the physical footprint it takes. NAS' are super expensive IMO.

teamtuck (teamtuck@social.linux.pizza)'s status on Saturday, 13-Jan-2024 00:32:31 JST teamtuck @selea No Intel QuickSync.... Neat little server though! I just wish flash storage (NVME) was a lot cheaper so I can physical shrink down the footprint. I have about 20TB of storage right now, maybe using half of it.

feld (feld@bikeshed.party)'s status on Saturday, 13-Jan-2024 00:34:34 JST feld @teamtuck @selea there are 30TB versions too but they're way too expensive.
Intel, Samsung, Sandisk, and others have them but you have to know what you're looking for as they're kinda hard to find.
Cumulus has a 100TB SSD tooIn conversation permalink -
