    As blogs from #wordpress, #ghostcms #microdotblog and others federate in, I'm trying to get everyone to use the tag #Fediblogs to make those posts discoverable and searchable.

    As podcasts from @Castopod MicrodotBlog, and @funkwhale, #PodcastIndex others federate... I'm trying to push for the use of the tag #Fedicasts to become a common way to search and find federated podcast episodes.

    Who's with me?

      @boris I do think searching by post type is intriguing but think hashtags could be an interim step that helps!

      @tchambers There’s already the field that is visible from what tool is posting.

      Mastodon search could be upgraded to show all posts made by Castopod.

      Or, actually post of type Podcast rather than everything being a Note.

      And blogs can post as Article.

      Let’s not get stuck on what Mastodon can do and really exercise the ActivityPub protocol.

      @tchambers Sure, lets give this a shot. I'll participate with my blogs ( @LaurensHof@fediversereport.com and @laurenshof@laurenshof.online ) as well

      @Castopod @funkwhale @dave @manton @pfefferle in an ideal world these publishing tools would encourage users to set these tags automatically to their blog and podcast content.

      @tchambers I appreciate the desire to enhance discovery, but if someone on the fediverse is discovering a blog or podcast post, then isn't it a given that the content is federated, and therefore the 'fedi' in the tag is superfluous?

      So why not just keep it simple and use #blog and #podcast? Also saves people from having remember and use another hashtag.

      Or are you trying to make a tag only for federated blogs and podcasts?

      @Brendanjones @Castopod @funkwhale @dave @manton @pfefferle

      To me: I’d think it helps find such long form and is particularly to assist in search. To my mind #blog or #podcasts might be used to discuss the mediums or a publisher and not be a tag denoting the federated content itself.

      @tchambers @Castopod @funkwhale @dave @manton @pfefferle Are you suggesting we use #Fediblogs only of the whole blog is federated as an account or if the posts are being shared?

      @tchambers looking at the # blog tag feed it's almost entirely actual blog posts. So actual usage doesn't match your desired usage, unfortunately.
