@cowanon@Johnny5iveAlive Like all blue? Can't you order key caps or 3d print them? Also could do plastidip and glossifier on any standard board. Just put painters tape over the sensitive spots while playing.
I don't think I'm quite at the stage of modifying a mech board for myself. I guess it'd be easy, though.
The first one pictured is a nice looking one, but it's not a full board. I actually use the ten keys!
Second picture looks awesome, and it'd be perfect if it were White with dat back lighting, but I hear it's got some problems like being overly expensive for what you get.
If I can't find a good looking and also good to type on, I'll probably get this even though it looks generic as fuark. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07M9431Q5
I have this kinda pipe dream of a new computer that's entirely White outside and in, kinda like a mac except manly. But that's probably not in the cards.
@cowanon@Johnny5iveAlive If you have any of those pallet overstock stores near you, a lot of them get computer accessories. I'm using a black aluminum full sized one with blue backlighting that I got for like $10 with cherry mx blues. Also check eBay. There's a ton of used and refurbished stuff there, as well as new. This one is "glorious gaming" and it's white aluminum for $70 with backlighting RGB. You could get get caps separately.
@cowanon@Johnny5iveAlive You can definitely use a Japanese keyboard. I just think you can do better on pricing than mechanicalkeyboards dot com. Mass drop used to have stuff way below MSRP and I know sites like meh and other deal a days will run electronics and peripheral deals.
@cowanon@Johnny5iveAlive Check microcenter. I don't get close enough to their store until I travel, so I just occasionally window shop. This is 90% sized and might ship. I don't like everything squashed together, but the point is there exists much cheaper options.
EDIT: quickly scrolling through several pages until the prices went above the one from the above and I couldn't find it. Drat. Well, I could get the one with Japanese characters on it and save $20, but I'm not that desperate.
@cowanon@Johnny5iveAlive Looks like they're fully programmable with profiles for the lights. Tempted to buy one of these to have a spare, but I literally have 6 keyboards already. a bunch of mine are old IBM mechs that I bought at garage sale and goodwill.
