   A new poll has shown support for the monarchy at a record low, falling below 50% for the first time.

   Scotland can be a modern and democratic republic with an elected and accountable head of state. We can be a fairer, greener country where power and sovereignty lies with the people and where the public wealth held by the crown, from land to palaces, is used for community benefit.

   It's time to abolish the monarchy.

     @ScottishGreens is the Scottish Green Party not pro independence? Why would I care what the UK decides to do with its monarchy if my priority is not the UK?

     @CloudyMrs @ScottishGreens abolishing the monarchy now is a good thing. Doing it before independence means that it won't be part of the debate.
