Oh
Wayland apparently doesn't work in vmware?
Well I sure wasted time...

@kdy Uuuh, what? Shouldn't that be a driver / display server issue rather than a display protocol issue? -

@kdy I guess if you want seamless integration you could workaround that with waypipe instead. -

@lanodan Dunno, I tried to install a quick Arch with Hyprland to try. It shows the background, I've set the env to show the cursor, but nothing more.
SUPER+Q seems to launch the term but it's not visible, same with SUPER+S which dims the screen.
Looking at some Sway config posts, they share the same experience.

@lanodan But trying now fresh with GNOME w/ Wayland, it works.
So huh, I guess there's something missing but I don't have any clue/logs nor the time to dig deeper rn.In conversation permalink Haelwenn /элвэн/ :triskell: likes this. -

@lanodan Thanks for sharing Waypipe, going to keep that somewhere.
But I'm on a Windows host, so not for my current case :pIn conversation permalink Haelwenn /элвэн/ :triskell: likes this. -

@kdy Except with WSL I guess? (which IIRC uses Wayland, so maybe there's something which could be lifted from Windows for more native things) In conversation permalink
