   With the recent changes in ownership of Bandcamp and now the potential sale of Soundcloud, I have a sense of foreboding about what the future may hold for those of us who aren't necessarily trying to monetise our creativity and just want an online space to share our stuff.

     I never understood why creators could not/would not create their own digital distribution infrastructures.

     I mean, its somewhat easier to explain the lapse (and hence the "helpful" middle men) in the case of taxis, hotels, appartment owners etc.

     Another potential creator-owned co-operative :D
