I thought my favorite glass could handle some gentle heating in a water bath on the stove.
It could not. 😔

Looking up borosilicate beer tankards between 360 ml (12 oz) and 500 ml (17 oz).
I just learned that a pint is 20 oz and almost 20% more than 500 ml.
@clacke A UK pint is 20 oz yeah. A US pint is 16 oz, to mirror the 16oz to a pound. Also the size of their oz differ :blobcatdizzy:
@tim_lavoie I don't plan to do it. I do plan for my future stupidity and doing it anyway.
I only found insulating double-layer clear borosilicate mugs though. Those would be stupid twice to put in a pot for heating.
@clacke Why borosilicate? Planning to keep heating up your tankards?
A local artisan specializes in artsy bongs with borosilicate glass, but mixing the two would result in the world's skunkiest beer.
@tfb From what I can tell, drinking containers advertised in HK use UK ounces.
It's what one might expect, but on the other hand all "centers" built before Handover are "centres", but *most* (not all!) of the ones built after are "centers".
The toothbrushes-spoons-and-clotheshangers shop a few minutes walk from here had a glass exactly like the one I broke. I bought two this time.
A borosilicate pair will arrive some time next week.
