   @lmayfair Thanks for the nice words. In truth, the subscriber links turn out to be one of our best marketing tools (not that we really have any of those :). They definitely get our work in front of people who wouldn't otherwise see it, and some of them become subscribers. We have never regretted adding the feature.

     I just found out generating shareable, free links to subscriber-only content is a thing on lwn.net and I absolutely love it. Not only because it is a great consumer-friendly feature, but also because it shows the people running the site are sensible people who are capable of trusting their user base to do the right thing. An increasingly rare thing to see nowadays. Nicely done @LWN !
