@quad Haha, well I'm in Brittany where for some some cities and isles boats are either the only thing your have or it's much faster than a bus.
Also Brittany Ferries is a pretty cool way to go to Ireland, Spain and UK for me.

@lanodan when traveling along western norway boats are usually the best option because fjords and mountains. if you want to drive you typically need a boat anyways.
for example if i want to travel from Florø where i am to Måløy where i grew up. i can get there in 1h10m with a catamaran. by car it takes 2h (and you still need a 45m ferry anyways)

@quad Yeah, looks a bit like if someone at map generation hated mainland and put isles and peninsulas at the maximum.

@quad Yeah, boats are really good when it comes to comfort. I can even say that with sometimes getting a bit under the weather on them (not sick, more like a very slight hangover).

@lanodan not to mention a boat is often more comfortable.
for example driving to Bergen takes 4h despite the roads in that direction being about the best and straightest you can find around here. (4h30m by bus)
But by boat it takes about 3h30m and i can chill with (slow) WiFi and an on-board kiosk which sells food and drinks instead.
