    @tokyo_0

    I have egalitarian tendencies and don’t view one as inherently superior, but each might be “fit for purpose”.

    That means people have to have an idea of purpose and objectives.

    Many don’t.

    That’s why cross-platform #trollsmanship is so effective.

    Few know why they are where they are.

      @tokyo_0 @paninid I've been blocking every Threads instance I come across. Seems to be working well thus far.

      @tokyo_0 You say, we need a shared user mute list for .social? 😁

      @tokyo_0 @paninid This is what I was looking for and couldn't find a few minutes ago. You can block the entire Threads domain and prevent anyone on that platform from interacting with you. This is one of the founders of Mastodon:

      @tokyo_0 @paninid Thanks for that. If it becomes a problem for me I'll go fully private. I don't know if mastodon.world blocks Threads. I'm guessing it doesn't. I may need to switch instances again at some point down the road.

      @paninid @carrideen The problem I have is that most people don't use content warnings, but most of the time I share other people's posts. If someone hasn't put a content warning on it it's a real pain to rewrite the whole post with a warning (compared to just hitting boost). It'd be better if there was a way to do it automatically. Maybe a tool can be created to do it. 🤔

      @tokyo_0 @carrideen

      Last year I was more conscious of content warnings.

      But, at some point, I defaulted to showing all posts, including those with a CW.

      That kind of put a halt to my own use of CWs.

      @todwest @tokyo_0 @paninid Thanks. So what does Federated mean on the list?

      @tokyo_0 @todwest @paninid What does this mean? I am not Fediverse literate enough to understand the implications.

      @caban4 @tokyo_0 @paninid Threads is essentially Facebook for Mastodon. At least it's owned by Zuckerberg. You can keep that shit completely away from me. This is why I plan to switch instances to one that blocks Threads.

      @tokyo_0 @todwest @paninid Thanks for the explanation! Looks like I’ll have to move. No need to become a Zuckerberg pawn after all these years of avoiding him. Thanks again.

      @tokyo_0 @paninid Yes, I think my experience here has been a lot more pleasant only because of aggressive blocking and muting.
