   E-Presceriptions in the UK:

   • I e-mail/phone my doctor
   • They prescribe me something
   • Drugs automatically appear at my chosen pharmacy next day (my chosen pharmacy can even post them to me!)

   E-Prescription in Germany:

   • I still need to physically go to the doctor every 3 months for them to scan my card
   • I still need to physically go to the pharmacy each time to give them the prescription
   • Pharmacists are no longer allowed to do substitutions if my specific medication is unavailable but e.g. the same thing with half the dose is?

     It feels like the German system is "We took the paper system and put a computer in the middle which has one purpose: arbitrarily saying no sometimes"

     @erincandescent Meanwhile for France the only digital thing I've heard of is via Doctolib which is exactly like if Facebook was managing health data except awful at security as script-kiddie level of data leaks already happened, so either you get a no-internet style of mess, or you risk having your health data in the wild.

     But all the competitors are much smaller
