@clive @arclight @outie @Wolf_Baginski Scriv under WINE might not sync direct to Dropbox, but have you looked into rclone? A cron job to run rclone regularly between the directory you store your Scriv projects in and your Dropbox account would probably work. Or write a shell script wrapper for Scriv that manually runs rclone to sync changes when you quit?

I tried Wine — it worked well, but as I recall made it impossible to synchronize a Scrivener file to other machines via dropbox or other cloud-storage services
I currently hop between a Mac laptop and a windows desktop, opening my Scrivener file on either one
Last time I tried to do that with wine on Ubuntu it wouldn’t sync …. Maybe there’s a way to make it work I hadn’t hit a pond?
Scrivener on Wine appears to depend on fully working Vulkan, so some older graphics hardware is problematic.
You can still get Scrivener 1.9 for Linux but I cannot recommend it.
