   IMO this is not a new thing, but a longstanding propagation of the US myth of the rugged, self-sufficient individual. After Reagan and the #DemocraticParty adoption of the #Neoliberal religion and subsequent corruption of the MSM the brainwashing began in earnest.

     @GreenSkyOverMe As the #Neoliberal revolution progressed the #CorporateOligarchy was allowed to obtain control of the Main Stream Media (MSM) and crate a 24/7 hardcore propaganda machine. A de facto Ministry of Disinformation using the latest in brainwashing (advertising) science at the same time as left/socialist media was destroyed, along with the unions.
