     No, they didn't. It depended a lot on the power differential. And the culture of mutual respect in the company.

     @klardotsh IME, prior to this people just got the fuck over it and didn't say anything as long as you didn't do anything egregiously unreadable.

     But yeah, this is clearly better than human reviewers being picky over trivial nonsense, if you didn't have that luxury.
