     @RustyCrab @Elf they've been doing that for years and publicly saying they're "getting away with it" on twitter, under real names no less, now that they're getting replaced they keep trying to gaslight people saying shit like "a 1:1 translation is impossible" or "politics exists in japanese media" when it's not what anyone is bitching about, people just dont want complete fanfiction, inserted politics and reddit buzzwords in translations, but they keep doing it

     Pokemon was also for major broadcast to very young children who have no personal experience, interest, or understanding related to balls of rice. To that audience in the 90s this was probably a genuine effort to convey his excitement

     But in that example, if not keeping the original word "tsundere" was a must, a much better translation would have been something like "Still playing hard to get?", this bitch just wanted to use it take a jab at men and it's probably a troon too.
