Alexandre Oliva (lxo@gnusocial.net)'s status on Tuesday, 02-Jan-2024 23:28:50 JST Alexandre Oliva it s not just a comfort, it's not a "you" problem. being able to save and make sure it's saved before suspending, hibernating or hitting the reset button, before battery runs out, before unplugging removable storage, or before going offline are quite valuable. that doesn't preclude autosave, but having autosave doesn't preclude explicit save either -

screwlisp (screwtape@mastodon.sdf.org)'s status on Tuesday, 02-Jan-2024 23:28:51 JST screwlisp @CyberneticForests save buttons have been frowned on since the mid 70s though. Now they exist to evoke the nostalgia of a tiny picture of a 3 1/2 " floppy.

Eryk Salvaggio (cyberneticforests@assemblag.es)'s status on Tuesday, 02-Jan-2024 23:28:52 JST Eryk Salvaggio I will never trust apps that don’t have save buttons. I know this is a me problem. Constant autosave is a smoother design decision. But it lacks the comfort of initiating and recieving feedback.
