Oh! So that's why I can't find Johnson's Baby Powder anywhere anymore. They just disappeared off the shelves a few months ago and I didn't know why.

Through the years they've had recurring issues with asbestos contamination and lost several class-action lawsuits, so now they've pulled the product for good.

I haven't found a good replacement. I live in a sweaty-weather city and talcum powder has helped my life quality by a lot.

@thor I have here some Australian powder of unknown composition. Not sure how that's legal to sell.

It is not as good and has tiny lumps in it.

Armed with the knowledge that this is not a temporary supply chain issue, I have ordered a year's supply online as I look into alternatives.

@clacke In the US, there are cornstarch powders which are unlikely to have minerals such as asbestos. I don't know whether they'd be exported to HK, but if not, there are probably other countries that produce such a product.

I can't compare the two for absorption. You'll just have to try it and see if it meets your needs.

@lnxw48a1 I'd prefer something inorganic and inert, but it does seem like starch is where it's going.

There are lots of different powders, but surprisingly few in as useful a container as the J&J one.
