   @tshirtman I'd say that the rise of ethnic nationalism in Europe is strongly linked to the waves of migration from West Asia and Africa in the 2010s.

   I'd also say that ethnic nationalism in the USA and to some extent Canada is strongly linked with migration from Central and South America.

     @evan i guess it depends the kind of connections we are thinking of, in a way, everything is connected, even if loosely, but if by that one is consequence of the other, i'd say no, though i agree the climate crisis will definitely worsen ethnic nationalism by creating more forced migrations, but we have barely seen the beginning of that.
