My predictions for 2024 for the #fediverse
...including predictions for @Flipboard, #WordPress, #BlueSky, Threads, and the overall size of and geographic makeup of the Fedi by this time next year. Will bookmark and come back to this next year to see what I got right and wrong.

  2024 Fediverse Predictions
  
  These are fun and like seeing the tech predictions starting to pop up in a lot of other places. Figure I should add mine about the Fediverse. All of these predictions are based on how FediDB will measure them in the next year: ▶️ The overall Fediverse as measured by FediDB will cross 25 million registered users, and by year’s end over 3 to 5 million monthly active users. The Fediverse will cross over 35,000 servers in 2024.

  @tchambers @Flipboard You mention expecting some new #Fediverse service, maybe a #Podcast app or something. I have that same feeling.
  Lately, when I've been looking for a software or service, my default starting position has been to ask "is there a fediverse version of this?" It's still early days, but I'd bet the answer will be "yes" sooner than later.
  I'd never have imagined asking that question 18 months ago, let alone starting with it. It's good to watch the fediverse grow.

  @tchambers @Flipboard - Looking forward to seeing what 2024 has in store for the fediverse.
  Would love to see easier discovery and alignment of the various fedi*.
  More turn key options for self host. I feel like @nextcloud and TrueNAS are up to bat there.

  Some interesting predictions on here!
  Most likely inaccuracy AFAICT is it’s too bullish on Fedi and too bearish on BlueSky.
