     @thomasfuchs wasn't there a pretty well known correlation between voting conservative and toxoplasmosis?

     In fairness, as an alternative explanatory variable to changing risk aversion behavior, the confounding factor may simply be age: More infections as people grow older. But we do have pretty solid evidence for brain damaging pathogens and environmental factors having social consequences as a matter of principle.      As an aside: I would only ever caution to steer away from predicting concrete actions rather than behavioral trends that emerge from heightened propensities. It's just too easy to fall into just-so-stories with abductive reasoning from statistical observations.

     But hey, we're just dudes shitposting. It's not like we're obligated to meet communication standards of an international body of professional science communicators like, say, the WHO. Oh, wait...
