:meru_mewwuluv: b e a r d (beardalaxy@gameliberty.club)'s status on Friday, 29-Dec-2023 22:02:29 JST :meru_mewwuluv: b e a r d @BlinkRape @MK2boogaloo i've never had a desktop GPU but i've used AMD GPUs in laptops. i know they are slowly catching up to NVIDIA's technologies, but NVIDIA's video rendering and AI tech is still top notch, FSR sucks, and their frame-gen isn't even public yet (and when it is public, it'll probably be worse anyway, with the only boon being that you can use it on somewhat older GPUs). meanwhile NVIDIA is doing shit like improving their ray tracing pipeline and developing RTX Remix which is insanely cool tech.
i also think NVIDIA's just got better user interfaces and more capability for tweaking.
the only game that's actually done better in AMD GPUs that i can think of as of late is starfield, and that's not saying much.
the major reason i initially decided to go with NVIDIA was actually emulation, because AMD has notoriously sucked when it comes to emulators. vulkan has been its only saving grace.

Not to mention stuff like video rendering and AI that they just have next to no capability for.
