   @spacehost_help@spacehost.team I need some help. I'd like to migrate off of and close down my single user instance of FireFish back to a mastodon instance.
   
   But I can't redirect my account to transfer followers because my account is the admin for the instance. What's the best way to do this? Can I add an additional user and transfer admin privileges so I can decommission the instance?

     Hello there!
     Regardless of the platform you're transitioning from or to, the procedure remains consistent:

     1. Link your old account with your new account using the alias.
     2. Execute the transfer action from your new account.
     3. Your old account is automatically marked as inactive.

     How to configure the alias- On your new mastodon profile, please go to https://mastodon.social/settings/migration, or navigate there from settings to migration.

     Under “Move to this account from an older account”, put in the handle of your account in this format: @oldaccount@yourfirefishserver.social.
     Click the “Save” button.

     Performing the migration:
     On your old firefish profile, go to
     https://yourfirefishserver.social/settings/migration

     (Or navigate there from Preferences > Account > Move to a different account > configure it here)

     Enter your new handle and your current Firefish password

     Click the “MOVE FOLLOWERS” button.

     *Please note that most services only let you migrate once every 30days.

     @spacehost_help@spacehost.team so I'm moving out of this account. Firefish won't allow me to move an admin account. So I need to creat an admin, and demote my current account before I can migrate followers. The only way to create an admin account is to make changes to the database from the shell.

     It appears that FireFish currently lacks a command line utility for user addition.

     Kindly proceed to register a new user using this email address- green.egg3991@fastmail.com.

     Following registration, we will elevate its status to admin by modifying its role in the database.

     While we can directly insert a new user into the database, it's worth noting that this approach may pose potential complications.

     Please let us know when the new user is registered.
