@nabijaczleweli @hipsterelectron @psykose IIRC FreeBSD make(1) ends up being the lowest common denominator, but well most people either target GNU Make which so far seems portable enough, or stick to a configure script + really basic make that's essentially POSIX without the .POSIX: flag that has nasty side-effects like CC = c99.
