   Facebook memories reminds me it’s 2 years since I had a fan escalate from “I really like your stuff could you help me become a comedian” to “we should get matching tattoos” to me leaving a DM on Read for three hours and them going “You don’t have to reply but at least be civil! You can call me a transphobe if you like and get me arrested but that would be TREASON because I’m an alien…”

   I shut down my DMs on all the public platforms after that.

     @PetraPhoenix I don’t think people realise how unsettling some of the things people say to you are. I can deal with the slurs and the death threats and that, it’s when people are properly unsettling that it really effects me

     I think for me it'd be the completely unhinged nature of the comments that'd scare me. I'm glad I don't have to deal with that shit, and it's utter bollocks that you (or anyone else) does.

     Yeah, I can see that.

     I don't understand the mentality of these people - I tend to err on the side of "don't intrude, and if you say something, be nice" when chatting to folks with any level of following. I always assume people have no idea who I am and am simply delighted if they reply. I am so easily pleased!
