    Overall, most people have no idea how varying forms of pollution are degrading life on Planet Earth

    Part of the reason is that many people don't consider that modern cities, motorways, etc, have not been designed to mitigate their impacts on wildlife. Therefore, as more anthropogenic infrastructure spreads around the 'globe', more wildlife is threatened with extinction

      @scientist the destruction of the biosphere will proceed until the ecological pressure is strong enough to crush the thick skull of Homo Sapiens.

      Rationally and realistically, looking at the long historical record and current socioeconomic structures it is impossible to imagine a transition to sustainability that will be smooth or in any sense orderly.

      We are smart enough to cause havoc with our tech amplified environmental imprint, but short of the smartness that would help contain it.

      @scientist experts can connect the dots and have done so for at least half a century now. It is also true that today awareness is the highest ever. But it falls incredibly short of the behavioral change that is required, destruction will continue for decades.

      Ofcourse it is the duty of any sane person to think and act in the right direction even it appears hopeless. Miracles happen sometimes, we dont know everything about societal transformations. Maybe there are also benign tipping points.

      @phiofx

      "thick skull of Homo Sapiens"

      Generally, if we were all "thick", we'd all have no idea how human infrastructure & activities are degrading life on Earth (I'm aware of the knowing, in part, but not caring much)

      people do have the potential to understand the problems & what we can do to mitigate those problems

      So, do your best to educate, to inform, people that "have no idea how varying forms of pollution are degrading life on Planet Earth"

      It's a numbers "game".
