Should we allow #Threads to join the #Fediverse? So far I've argued that trying to shut the doors of what aims to be an open and inclusive network would be contradictory to the spirit of decentralized social media, and thus a step in the wrong direction. But reading @kissane's excellent reflection on the topic, and her compilation of horrors that should rightfully undermine anyone's expectation that #Meta is pursuing this path for any other purpose than extracting value from the Fediverse, gives me pause.
