@jeff The occurence of a failure to moderate a server of 1000 people is very different from the ongoing failure to moderate a server of 100 M people.
In one case, you get an abusive message, block the person behind it and discuss it with their moderator. In the other case you may wake up to an overloaded server, a hellthread and notifications with thousands of abusive dogpiling messages from hundreds of people and no person to contact about it because it all comes from an anonymous corporation with a handful of unnamed mods.
Caution and selective admission makes sense. Mistakes can cause immeasurable harm.
