     I think things will get worse before they get better, unfortunately.

     Ah, see, this is one of the reasons for issuing more currency to create rapid inflation: it's a means of draining old people's savings. If they are also lowering the pension, it means they're trying really hard to lower the impact. Kind of dirty, but politicians are politicians and most of them are treating their country like a top-down centralized economy, like the USSR. I don't think this kind of thing can last long.
     
     As for the rest of it, it seems the economy was already strained, I saw a lot of Japanese people on here complain about the effect of the Olympics, and then the JPY-USD exchange rate, and it seems things are getting worse.
