   A #CanadianKvetches as I haven't done one in a while.

   This isn't as considered as many of my kvetches, and it may be #Vancovuer specific but...

   I can't get a gyro in this city. Everything is donair and they say they're the same thing, but they're not, nor are the way they serve schwarma here, which is often as a plate, or a wrap, and not in a pita.

   Similarly, no one here seems to serve danish pastry (what I'd just call "a danish"). It's just not served here and what they call danish is what I'd call a strudel, which is a different thing.

   I can't get corned beef in Vancouver, at least not good corned beef. Omniksy's does sell it, but it's (sadly) inedible. The owner is retiring this month, so maybe there's hope?

   And challah... Breka is a life saver here... They offer challah on Fridays. Sadly no raisin challah, but beggars can't be choosers. But they're *basically* the only ones.

     Dude... COBS Bread has danishes, and I think Costco does sometimes too.

     @serge not to be a total whiner but why are 4 of 5 PNW beers IPAs? Not every beer has to taste like a car deodorizer.

     Gotcha.

     Keep in mind, before here I lived in NYC and these foods were not hard to find there.

     I mean keep I wasn't even mentioning thinking about exotic foods like knishes and bialy.

     I do miss simple things like *sandwiches* though.

     @serge preach. We have awesome Pho. South of us we have amazing Korean BBQ. Some of our seafood places are pretty good.

     Everything else is missing or mediocre
